Recommendations of Places to Visit While in Japan


Tokyo Area

Among the thousands of things you can do in Tokyo, we offer our suggestions on these highlighted places! We encourage you to plan your stay prior to your departure; thus, you will have more time visiting the sites than planning it while you are in Japan. Remember to ask your host about any places you would like to visit or explore.

  • If you want to get a wonderful sight of Tokyo and its surroundings, why don’t you have it from the Tokyo Tower? The tower is open for viewing during the day and at night. While you are there, you can enjoy a pleasant lunch 250 meters above the city.  Another great view of Tokyo city is at the Mori Tower located in Roppongi district.
  • Among the most to see in Tokyo, you can take a walk around Ueno park and enjoy the great view of the Senso-ji located in Asakusa. This temple is one of the famous tours sites to venture. At Ueno park, stop by the Ueno zoo and the science and technology museum. Don’t forget to pick up some souvenirs at the HardRock Café located inside Ueno station.
  • Crazy about shopping? Whether it is luxury brands or affordable fashion clothes, you will find your paradise in Omotesando and Harajuku!
  • After a day of shopping, you can stroll around Yoyogi park, which is located behind the Harajuku JR station. Have your fortune read at the Meiji Shrine or just sit outside and absorb the sunlight.
  •  Right in the heart of Tokyo, you will find the Imperial Palace with its green park and imperial buildings. You will have the opportunity to view some of these buildings within the Imperial Palace. If you are lucky, you may have a chance to see the emperor himself.
  • Do you like museums and Japanese culture dating back to the Edo era? Visit the Edo Museum.  How about Katana (Japanese swords)? The Swords Museum is located in Shinjuku!
  • Crazy about Japanese night life, karaoke and anime? Roppongi, Shibuya ,and Shinjuku are waiting for you!
  • If you like to walk in quite gardens away from street crowds, we invite you to discover the Hamarikyu Garden in Shinbashi area with its famous tea house and the Korakuen with its famous red bridge. Both gardens are animated with several small resting ponds.

Outskirt of Tokyo

  • In the south of Tokyo, you’ll be able to discover Yokohama with its famous Chinatown and Kamakura along the seaside. This city is known for its ancient capital of Japan surrounded by many beautiful temples.
  •  In the north side of Tokyo, you will discover Nikko. Once there, you can take a ride on a ferry over Lake Chuzenji glazing Mount Nantai. Other sites around Nikko includes Ryuzu and Kegon waterfalls, Yumoto Onsen, Rinnoji Temple and many more. Enjoy a clam walk and a cup of tea looking over the lake.
  • On a clear day, you will be able to meet with one of Japan’s symbols. The great Fuji-san and the area of Hakone with all its hot springs and lakes such as Lake Ashi, which overlooks the snowy  top of Mount Fuji.
