The Suzuki Family

The SuzukiHideo Suzuki, your host, is able to speak Japanese and English; he is eager to share his vast knowledge about Japanese history and its culture. With many years of hosting experience, Suzuki-san has met a hand full of visitors from all over the world; some were even repeated students. Think of the Suzuki family as your own family back home, for they will treat you as one of their own.

Traditional Japanese dishes

During your length of stay, you will have the opportunity to experience first-hand the delicacy of Japanese dishes. From ramen to takoyaki to sushi, we are sure your taste bud will enjoy one if not all of them. Would you prefer something more home-cooked? Toshiko, Suzuki’s wife, is a homemaker by trade. Thus, she knows many traditional Japanese dishes and will be serving quite a few. She speaks Japanese and very little English; however, this doesn’t stop her from communicating with her guests. You will appreciate her kindness and enjoy her hospitality at the same time. The Suzuki also have two childern, Haruna, the eldest daughter and Mone, the youngest son.

When you stay at Suzukihomestay, you will have the opportunity  to discover the great city of Tokyo and its surroundings.  Don’t have a clue where to start? Your host can provide you with information of the major tourist sites as well as sites in which the locals would only know. Be sure to inquiry with them during your stay. For your convenient, transportations are available with prior arrangements for a nominal fee.

Around and about the Suzuki-House

  • Urawa Misono stadium built for the Soccer World Cup 2002. Just  10 minutes away from the guest house.  Enjoy a convenient game without the hassle of being stuck in traffic and at an affordable price.
  • Aeon shopping mall situated just next to the Urawa Misono subway station. There you will find everything ranging from food, clothing, cinema, massages, and electronic gadgets!
  • Onsen (hot spring). Do you like taking hot baths? You will enjoy going to traditional Japanese hot springs with your host after dinner or anytime you want!
  • Omiya city: This will be your pick up place coming from Narita airport by a local train. The city of Omiya is one of the large cities within Saitama with many ramen shops as well as other restaurants to choice from. Don’t forget to pick up a map when you arrive at Omiya station and explore other activities and attractions!
  • Swimming pools.  Beat the heat. Public swimming pools are open during the summer. Ask your host about the locations and hours of operation.

Living with the Suzuki Family

As a courtesy, we would like to remind you that you will be staying with a live-in host family and not in a hotel. You will be asked to follow certain rules set forth by your host. Please respect them and the family members in which you will be staying with as if they were one of your own. With that in mind, we are sure you will have a pleasant stay and enjoy the beauty of Japan. This is a memory of a life time you will cherish for the rest of your life.
